Prompt: Marathon

So much has been said about the journey between birth and death—in poetry, in song, in every day words; but none more revealing than the unspoken expressed in the faces we encounter on the road of life, running their marathons quietly within!

Breath taken involuntarily, eyelids blink in step!  The pulse of life rhythmically follows the beat of the heart in sleep and in wake!  We walk, we run; we pause to regain our breath, looking up again at the road ahead as it stretches before us.  We lift our heads, motion forward, and begin again the marathon of life!
